A police investigation is currently underway after the remains of two animals were found in a dumpster on the corner of Throop Ave and Lafayette Ave in Bedford Stuyvesant.
According to an employee at the Henry Quentzel Plumbing Supply Co., Inc, the smell was reported to the police earlier this afternoon by a coworker, and the police have been on the scene ever since.
"The police are still here," said the employee, who goes by Ms. July. "The area is all blocked off." Ms. July said she didn't know what kind of animals were in the dumpster, but they were apparently large and pungent enough to initially be mistaken for human remains over the police scanner:

An NYPD spokesman declined to say how many animals were in the dumpster or what sort of animals they are.
"We are waiting for the ME to arrive so we can determine what it is," Detective Marc Nell said.
A spokeswoman for the Medical Examiner's Office said their anthropologist hadn't yet determined the animals' species.
Goat heads are sometimes found in Prospect Park, and are generally assumed to be part of Santeria rituals. Religious slaughter is legal so long as the animal bodies are properly disposed of.
