Bloomberg On Kiddie Porn Teacher's Aide: Deal With It

As the FBI continues to investigate PS 243 Teacher's Aide Taleek Brooks, 41, in regards to charges of both having and producing child pornography, Mayor Bloomberg has responded to the disturbing story with surprising nonchalance considering his normally outspoken views on education.

"The school system’s something like 125,000 people, and I don’t think it’s practical to think there isn’t going to be somebody doing despicable things," the mayor said yesterday. "There are some sick people in the world, and you just have to learn to deal with them." Noted!

Meanwhile, more information about the amount of time Brooks, a divorced father of one, was able to spend unsupervised with children from 243 has come to light. Apparently Brooks, who ran an all-boys dance troupe called Freestylers at the school, would take his boys on weekend trips to his mom's house in Pennsylvania as well as on camping trips and to the movies once a month. If anything untoward actually happened on those trips, however, remains unknown for now.

Most of us are fine - except for those people over there, the kids that were sexually abused and their parents. Folks there are some bad apples out there but don't let that ruin your day. You know the odds are gonna get some of ya every now and then. Sucks to be you sexually abused people.

He didn't tell them not to worry, he told them that there is a bad apple in the bunch and that will happen with that many teachers, and those bad apples we need to find a way to deal with them....not accept them, make sure they are dealt with

The angriest I rember Bloomie is when he is being challenged on his administration, not about preverts after schoolchildren.

Hell, he got angrier than this when a disabled reporter's cellphone went off during a press event and the guy took too long shutting it off for Bloomberg's liking because he was physically impaired!
