Police are searching for a man who allegedly hit his three-year-old daughter with a brick in Brick, NJ. Edward Smith, 25, destroyed the child’s mother’s cellphone and stole her car after the Saturday night incident, and has been on the run since. Authorities believe Smith wasn't intentionally trying to hurt the little girl, who lost a tooth and needed stitches for a cut on her upper lip.

Smith had entered his ex-girlfriend's apartment around 9 p.m. Saturday night, despite the fact she had taken a restraining order out against him. He left, but threw a landscaping brick inside through the sliding glass door, striking the toddler. Smith then went back inside to destroy the cellphone and steal the 1996 Dodge Stratus. He later ditched the car; he's currently wanted for simple assault, burglary, criminal mischief and theft.

  • Brick! I knew we hated them in high school for a reason.

And the biggest threat to our country now is a pro-choice president

This headline is misleading.  It implies there are two bricks involved in the incident.  Does he live in the projects? if so, it should read "Bricks Dad"

The dad is made of brick, and threw one brick.

    That makes sense.  Thanks schmeep.

    Redacted:

I wouldn't feel bad about suicide by cop in this case.

Also, I can't help but sing the headline to "Brick House"...."He a Brick...dad..."

If ever there was a guy who deserved a shopping cart dropped on him...
