Greg Kelly's Texts With Rape Accuser Were "Two Days Of Foreplay"

This week, Greg Kelly, son of NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly and co-host of "Good Day New York," was accused of—but not charged with—raping an unidentified young woman in her Manhattan office. Sources have told the dailies that Kelly had text messages from the woman after the encounter of a "flirtatious" nature, including lines like "‘It was good time? Was it as nice for you? Do you want to do it again?’” Now a Post source is being even more clear-cut about those texts, which occurred both before and after the alleged rape: “The texts were explicit. They were sexual. They talked about what they wanted to do to each other. It was two days of foreplay.”

The woman, a 29-year-old Long Island native who works at a Manhattan law firm, met Kelly (who is single) in the street in early October—and the Post claims she was star-struck. “I’ve seen you on TV. You’re so cute,” she allegedly said after she stopped him in lower Manhattan. The two exchanged numbers and arranged to meet for drinks on October 8th—the Post claims that "48 hours of marathon sexting" led up the date. They met that Saturday night at Jeremy’s Ale House, a bar which the Daily News notes attracts a fair amount of retired firefighters and cops, and features bras hanging from the ceiling.

After drinks there (a source said they had a “laughably low” tab), sources say they went to her office because her boyfriend was home. The Post's source says, “They continued to text. Part of it was about arranging another date.” Altogether, there were 17 text messages between the two. “You don’t text your rapist—other than to say, ‘You’re awful,’ ” the source said. Which is not always necessarily true: in 2010, a woman texted with her alleged rapist after he allegedly broke into her parents house in Ozone Park, raping her twice by knife-point.

Investigators are trying to determine whether the woman was too drunk to consent to sex with Kelly, which ultimately led to her getting pregnant and having an abortion, and it's unclear whether Kelly knew about it. Some investigators have previously told the Post that they believe, “everybody [the woman and Kelly] was a happy camper until the boyfriend found out.” They believe her boyfriend grew suspicious because she refused to have sex with him—she eventually confessed that she couldn’t sleep with him because she had undergone an abortion, which allegedly made the boyfriend furious. He even confronted Ray Kelly at a police event and told him his son “ruined my girlfriend’s life.”

The woman, who has been described as "an aspiring model and actress," also has a family member in the NYPD—her brother is a crime-scene investigator for the NYPD who previously worked in the Internal Affairs Bureau. And DNAInfo reported that she was inspired to report the alleged rape because of Kelly's famous dad encouraging New Yorkers to come forward to report all crimes: “Her boyfriend was telling her, ‘You see, even his father is telling people to report crime,’” a source told DNAinfo.

One thing's for certain: the Manhattan D.A. office is not going to rush this investigation. “They’re getting no political pressure, and even if they were, at the end of the day, they’re going to do what they want,” another source told The Post. “They say they’re going to do a thorough, diligent job and make sure that whatever the truth is, that’s what they uncover.”

Another certainty: there is no shortage of off-record "sources" talking to the media.

I think in the end:  “everybody [the woman and Kelly] was a happy camper until the boyfriend found out.” is going to sum this whole thing up.

  • I wasn't going to comment until I saw that all the ads I have on the screen while reading this story is for a dating service.

"Two Days Of Foreplay" ~ Sounds like she's Jewish.

  • If she sues you KNOW she is.

    this reeks of Duke Lacrosse

If there is no shortage of off-record "sources" talking to the media, why the fuck do you copy and paste the article from the NY Post. Why add the link? Why bother reporting on this topic when you HAVE NOTHING TO SAY???

This confirms something I've known for a long time: stay far, far away from actresses, aspiring or otherwise.  Their need for approval is wanton, rampant and often indiscriminate.

as much as i dislike greg kelly (he sucks up to the current administration and his reports and comments are very biased in bloombergs favor). i think the allegations (just by reading the article) sound like bullshit. the only reason there was a rape allegation was for this girl to try and keep the boyfriend she was cheating on. lets just say it sounds better to say "he raped me!" than to say "i was fucking greg kelly behind your back!". you make the allegation and lie a bit more, then hopefully your gullable boyfriend will believe you.

does that sound about right? i think so.

I agree with you.  But could the boyfriend really be so stupid as think that a prominent guy like Kelly would forcibly rape anyone?  He must have felt he needed to go along with the story so he wouldnt have to break up with her. What evidence is there that Greg is capable of rape?  I hope this sordid affair ends soon.

  • Amber

...wait what? Prominent figures aren't capable of forcible rape? You have got to be trolling.

  • sketto

It's the Kobe Bryant defense - why would I rape her since I'm so famous? Rapists can't be famous.

  • (in an Emily Litella voice)---never doubt it! That said, this woman has made it harder for real rape victims to be believed. The text messages are why there will be no charges.

  • RobNYC

And that is the real crime.  I mean she didn't go to the police so I doubt she wanted this to come out like it did but you should never lie about rape.  It only fucks over the real victims of rape.

  • Rocknrope

This is going to get cleared up in 10 seconds once they release the texts.  If she's responding with comments like "That was hot," "You gave it to me really good, babe," etc. etc. then I think we can all figure out what happened.

You make her sound like most of the women I have been with.

I wish there aren't any more articles on this until charges have actually been brought on Kelly, or until an identifiable source steps up. Right now this is all gossip and unnecessary dramatization, and the reactions are either slut-shaming or damaging to Kelly's reputation. No one wins. And come on, are we really taking the Post's "sources" as truth?

  • fosiacat

OOOOOH slut shaming! buzzword du jour! also, 'gender'!

  • According to news reports, Raymond Kelly famously had detectives personal phones "dumped" to determine the source of information leaks to The Post in reference to a high profile homicide in 2006, a move that had never occurred. One must question why hasn't the Manhattan DA sought to find the source of the leaks to the press and put an end to them. Leaks jeopardizes cases and can serve to steer thought in the court of public opinion making it difficult to find objective persons to serve on a jury.
If the DA office cannot control the leaks then the logical course of action would be to turn the investigation over to persons that have no connection to the local media, NYPD, Mayor, or DA's offices.

  • I agree. This needs to go to a real court, not a court of opinion.

    Aaaaaannnnnd here we go!
