Video: Guy Fieri Eating In Reverse Is Surprisingly Entertaining

Some of us find grotesque and obnoxious food-related rich guy Guy Fieri unbearable to watch on the tee-vee, but Conan O'Brien discovered something very interesting last night: playing footage of Fieri backward has the opposite effect! As grating as Fieri is in normal footage, he's conversely tolerable when he's moving backward. Oh, the fun things you can do with video machines! Watch with the simple, easily-amused eyes of a child as Guy Fieri eats his food in reverse:

Now if only Fieri's entire career could be put in reverse like this, until it recedes to that far distant point when he was a nobody who couldn't buy and sell us a thousand times over.

I've never met him so I'll take the "apparently he's homophobic and sexist" with a grain of salt. If I ever see him do something to make me believe those rumors are true, then I may dislike him. I wish I had his job and yes, he's over the top with personality, but he was originally supposed to bring more blue collar heterosexual viewers to the food network. Whether he's succeeded? I don't know but I'd say probably.

It's a purely visceral reaction, I admit--it doesn't have any basis in anything beyond disliking Fieri's personality. I just think trying to claim that the reason people dislike Fieri is because they "envy" him is shallow and lazy. Sometimes people rub you the wrong way and it's not because you secretly wish you could be them.

I can see being a little bugged by how he dresses, but he seems nice enough and his show is about little-known local places to eat which is pretty nifty.
