Video: Sneaky Dad Motivates Kid Into Doing Backflip Every Day For Year
While you've been updating your Google feed for news on Blue Ivy, other people have been out there doing things, man. To wit: Syracuse University student Sam Morrison’s dad bet him $100 he couldn’t do a backflip every day for a year. And now Morrison has earned all ten thousand of those pennies. Watch a video compilation of his feats below.
Morrison, a junior who expects to graduate with a bachelor’s of science degree in Information Management and Technology, catalogued the year-long project on his Tumblr here—not all the flips were in the video above because of poor-lighting, but he says all of them are on his Tumblr. Now, he is thinking about going to the next level: "doing a backflip on EVERY continent, starting with North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia this summer."
You might scoff at his achievement, but as Morrison told the Syracuse Post-Standard, it wasn't just about the act itself—it tested his willingness to complete a four-second task, day in and day out. “Some days I didn’t feel like getting up to do it,” Morrison said. But if you're impressed by that, then get a load of this: we wash our hands for up to 10 seconds at a time MULTIPLE times a day (after flicking the light switch three times back and forth and hopping over any cracks in the floor).
