Is this the most disappointing winter ever? The season's almost half over and there has yet to be a deep freeze or a significant snow storm. Saturday's snow was cute but hardly memorable. Aside from some rain tomorrow and Friday there's no particularly interesting coming our way anytime soon. We should see a few clouds later this afternoon. Today's high will be in the mid 40s, which is several degrees warmer than normal.
Tomorrow's rainmaker is currently sitting over south Texas. The storm is forming slightly south of the jet stream which is allowing the storm to wrap warm, moist air around itself. When that system gets caught up in the jet it will bring the warmth and moisture our way. Look for light rain or showers to start tomorrow afternoon, with heavier rains expected Thursday night into Friday. Tomorrow's high will be in the mid 40s but on Friday we should reach 50 degrees for the tenth time this month.
Once that storm passes a lazy high pressure system will move over the East Coast. The high will bring clear skies and gradually cooling temperatures. We are looking at upper 40s on Saturday, lower 40s on Sunday and upper 30s on Monday before warming begins again on Tuesday.
