Henrik Lundqvist made 27 saves for the shutout as the Rangers took care of the Predators, 3-0. The victors got one goal in each period. Dan Girardi scored in the first and then John Mitchell and Ryan Callahan (empty-netter) followed suit. The Rangers, who had lost two of three, including one to the lowly Canadians, looked much sharper Garden on Tuesday. They have Pittsburgh on Thursday before a trip to the defending champion Bruins on Saturday.

Evgeni Nabokov needed to make only 17 saves to shut out the Capitals in a 3-0 win by the Islanders. John Tavares scored to extend his point streak to a career-best 10 games.

The Devils didn't shut out the Winnipeg Jets, but they did score five times in a 5-1 rout. Two of those goals came from Ilya Kovalchuk, who has seven goals in six games. Patrik Elias also scored and added two assists. The Devils have won five of six games.
