In a move that few pretty much everyone saw coming, benevolent butter queen Paula Deen took to the Today show this morning to tell Al Roker that yes, she has been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. But don't worry—she has a fancy new diabetes website and she's getting paid to endorse Novo Nordisk's Victoza medication, so she'll be just fine, even if she thinks talking about how much she's raking in from the deal is "tacky."
USA Today reports that Deen was first diagnosed three years ago, but "I made the choice at the time to keep it close to me, to keep it close to my chest. I felt like I had nothing to offer anybody other than the announcement. I wasn't armed with enough knowledge. I knew when it was time, it would be in God's time."
So, now that God has spoken to her, Deen doesn't care about all the haters: "I don't care what the haters and naysayers say. If they make jokes about me, I'll laugh because they'll probably be funny." And while she's trying to cut the empty calories from her diet and will try to encourage eating in moderation on-air, she's not going all Goop on us: "I don't want to spend my life not having good food going into my pie hole. That hole was made for pies."
Personally if you look at the hand signals from President Obama that's apart of the Masons. Plus the Illuminati wants these drugs to exist because they get free money also.
Believe what you want to believe. But there is a cures for everything. If the Illuminati didn't exist it would be a better world. They just want to push drugs on us to kill us.

I am thinking about getting in the leg breaking business. After I believe I will sell crutches.

i wonder what her will says about how she wants be buried....maybe someone will deep fry her then bury her in cocoa powder....dem maggots gonna have some feast.
ganghiscon
Is Victoza deep fried?

So I'm guessing she's making no changes to her diet to address the problem. Great role model you are by taking the low-road.

What goes around comes around.
I'm also appalled by how she's handling this. You know what cures Type 2 Diabetes? Lifestyle changes (losing weight, eating a low-glycemic diet, exercise.) You know what doesn't? Stuffing yourself with drugs and continuing to deep-fry everything.
She's a poor role model for anyone who suffers from insulin resistance. Considering the source of her fame, it's inexcusable.

From the Victoza Website: "During the drug testing process, the medicine in Victoza® caused rats and mice to develop tumors of the thyroid gland. Some of these tumors were cancers. It is not known if Victoza® will cause thyroid tumors or a type of thyroid cancer called medullary thyroid cancer in people. If medullary thyroid cancer occurs, it may lead to death if not detected and treated early. If you develop tumors or cancer of the thyroid, your thyroid may have to be surgically removed."
2009 Novo Nordisk agrees to pay a $9 Million fine in connection with the payment of $1.4 million in kickbacks through the United Nations Oil-for-food Program.[26]2010 Victoza - the first once-daily human glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) analog for the treatment of type 2 diabetes is approved for distribution in the US.[27] 2010 Novo Nordisk agreed to pay $25 million to the US government for illegally promoting its haemostasis management drug, NovoSeven.[29]2011 The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry reprimands Novo Nordisk for poor management due to breaching industry codes concerning various promotional efforts for its Victoza diabetes medicine.[30]

If someone ever came to me and said "I heard Paula Deen takes this drug....blah TV blah I eat like shit blah blah," they wouldn't get a prescription just on principle.
ANGRYGOD11
And you might get some prison time for negligent homicide, just on principal, the legal code and ethics. Don't drop the soap.
On the serious side, there is NO medication at this time that will enable anyone to eat like a pig with chronic diseases caused largely by bad diet. NO pharmaceutical company would ever make such a claim.

Sorry, I didn't clarify. They wouldn't get a script for Iiraglutide (Victoza).
I don't have to prescribe drugs just because people hear about it on TV. They get Metformin, meglitinides, or tzd's - not something that's only been on the market one year.

God's Time = Endorsement Deal.

Sorry, Paula, you are no Wilford Brimley.

"I don't want to spend my life not having good food going into my pie hole. That hole was made for pies." - America in a sentence.
