A married Inwood couple were found dead of an apparent murder-suicide in their apartment yesterday. The bodies of Jesus Soto, 56, and Yanet Soto, 54, were found in their bedroom by the wife’s live-in daughter and her 12-year-old granddaughter about 11:20 a.m. in their apartment at 24 Arden Street. Police believe that Jesus murdered wife Yanet, then purposefully took an overdose of pills. According to the Post, Yanet was found with deep cuts on her face, which was nearly sliced from ear to ear.

Jesus was not wounded, but several pill containers were found next to his unconscious body. They were both pronounced dead at the scene. The daughter did not spend the night at the apartment. The couple had no history of domestic violence. "They were very cool, very funny people. Very family-oriented,” neighbor Alex Valdez told DNAInfo. “I saw the granddad two days ago. He was just walking. Everything seemed normal.”
