At around 10 a.m. this morning, a driver lost control of her car and ended up in the Hudson River near 94th Street. She managed to get out of her car and was fished out of the water two blocks north.

According to NBC New York, the driver was an elderly woman who had been on the Henry Hudson Parkway. WABC 7 reports, "The woman said her car struck another vehicle and careened down a footpath in Riverside Park." A police source told the Post the woman had been trying to make a U-turn at a parking lot.

The driver was "disoriented" and taken to St. Luke's Hospital. Divers searched for a second passenger, but it does not appear there was another person in the vehicle.

Why don't you mention anything about the officer who dove into the water to rescue the woman?

One report said she was making an illegal U-turn. Yep, making a U-turn on the Henry Hudson.
