Man Stabbed, Hit With Beer Bottle At Chelsea Nightclub

A man was stabbed and beaten over the head with a beer bottle at a Chelsea nightclub around 4 a.m. Saturday morning. According to DNAinfo, the incident occurred at The Shadow on West 28th Street, and the victim was transported to Bellevue with injuries that were not life-threatening. Authorities were called to the scene to control the crowd, but it's unclear what caused the altercation.

The Shadow's general manager, Jodi Seiff, denied that anything had happened in the club. "Maybe it occurred blocks away," she told the outlet, and noted that fights in other nightclubs often spill out onto nearby streets. "Nothing like that occurred at the club. I've been there 16 years, we've never had an incident."

The club itself is an 11,000 square-foot venue that serves as a live broadcasting location for Hot 97 every Friday night. Reviews on Yelp are mixed, at best, but many note the club's metal detector, and one user writes that "the security lady checked me better than any airport. She even lifted my strapless bra when she was finished." In September a man was stabbed and killed after leaving the Juliet Supper Club on West 21st Street.

In every bar and club in the city there are drunk people at 4 am. Are the police called out to all those venues as well?
