The Knicks did everything they could, but even they couldn't lose to a pathetic Washington club. Carmelo Anthony hit a huge three-pointer with 15 seconds left to give the Knicks a one-point lead and they held on for a 99-96 victory. Anthony scored 37 points while Amar'e added 23, but only shot 9-for-21 from the field. The defense had another off night as they allowed Washington to shoot over 48% from the field.
The Nets didn't shoot very well at all, but they took care of the ball and out-rebounded the Raptors for a 97-85 win. Deron Williams and Anthony Morrow each scored 24 points.
The Rangers came out flat and gave up a goal six minutes into their contest with the Penguins. After a tongue lashing from Torts, they rebounded with three-straight goals and beat Pittsburgh 3-1. Henrik Lundqvist was outstanding in net, stopping 37-of-38 shots. Brandon Dubinsky had a goal and an assist.
The Devils used a big third period to beat Florida 5-2. Ilya Kovalchuk scored twice in the period and Zach Parise added an empty-netter. Johan Hedberg made 22 saves for the win.
Kyle Okposo put the Islanders up 2-1 early in the third period, but Anaheim stormed back with three-striaght goals to win 4-2.
