Van Halen Playing Cafe Wha? On Thursday, But You Aren't Invited
Oh look at this, according to the NY Times, Van Halen has invited music writers and critics to a short, intimate concert at the 250-capacity Cafe Wha? in Greenwich Village this Thursday. Meaning they'll get an up-close and personal look at this! But sadly, it looks like our invitation was lost in the mail. It's cool though, we were Hagar fans anyway—mostly because he feeds us tequila. This concert, however, is a prelude to a tour which will bring David Lee Roth back to the forefront.
And in case you missed the giant billboard they took out in Times Square (which includes the date February 7th), the Grey Lady points to the below YouTube that the band put up last month, featuring some dance moves from the now 57-year old Roth, and announcing tickets for their tour will start to go on sale on January 10th.
Oh fine, we actually do like David Lee Roth. But where do you guys stand?

Van Halen with any singer is still Van Halen. No one else lays down such a groove.

I guess no one remembers the acrimonious *first* DLR-VH reunion, which blew apart well before the tour was scheduled to end. Can the old guys keep it together this time?
Cyclerock
They already toured after that, but it wasnt new material.

Didn't the "more than words" guy sing with them for a minute?
Guest
Yes, and it was just as bad, maybe worse, as Van Hagar.

PS- if they even sounded remotely as good as they did when that photo was taken those tickets would be worth four thousand dollars each

DLR all the way. Don't care how old he is
TheRealCannibal
That's ok, don't want tickets to the sad party anyhow

Diamond Dave is gone. Its 2012 and the voice is gone. Check out any of the zillions of recent YouTube postings to confirm and then deal with it.
