Carmelo Anthony led the way with 23 points, and he had help from Landry Fields (21), Tyson Chandler (22 points and seven rebounds) and rookie Josh Harrellson (14 points and 12 rebounds). The Knicks salvaged the final game of their three-game trip on the West Coast. They will they will not travel farther than San Antonio in the rest of this lockout shortened season. Stoudemire is day to day, but given his slow start, the team may not miss him as much as people think.
Thanks to John Tavares and Matt Moulson, the Islanders enjoyed a rare convincing win at the expense of the Oilers. They won their second straight game against a Canadian Western Conference team with a 4-1 win. Tavares and Moulson assisted on each other's goals and combined for five points. Matt Martin and P.A. Parenteau had the other goals.
Ilya Kovalchuk scored on a penalty shot -- after talking about it before the game in the Devils' 3-1 win over the Penguins. Kovalchuk assisted on both other goals. The Devils snapped a four-game winless streak against the Penguins and have won nine of 12 overall.
