Brooklyn Teen Fatally Struck On Street Median By Alleged Drunk Driver

A Brooklyn teen standing on a street divider was struck and killed by an alleged drunk driver last night. Terence Tsao, 17, was standing on a Cropsey Ave. traffic island at Bay 37th St. in Gravesend when a 2000 Dodge minivan jumped the curb and hit him around 9:40 p.m. Tsao was taken to Lutheran Medical Center, where he died.

Driver Vitali Korzavin, 46, smashed the van into a light pole after hitting Tsao. He was arrested at the scene, and was later charged with vehicular manslaughter and DWI, police said.

In a separate incident last night, a 12-year-old boy was killed after a hit-and-run in Ocean County around 10:30 p.m. Police don't have a description of the vehicle, and haven't released the name of the victim yet.

Treat these murderers like murderers. DWI is never ok.

    What does Woody Allen think?

  • Not really shocking. When I was hit by a car it was a drunk driver who drove up onto the sidewalk. At least they charged the guy.

I was hit by a flying bumper when 2 cars collided at an intersection. One car was trying to beat the light and clipped his bumper and sent it flying into my legs. I saw it coming and still didn't get out of the way fast enough.

Oh, the holidays. Not saying drunks are only out during the holiday.

The NYPD was in Prospect Park, ticketing cyclists.

  • Yeah sure that will explain away everything

a second article about a driver killing and yet cyclists are the dangerous ones. a license is a privilege not a right and should be taken seriously.

    Charge the asshole with murder.

  • Rocknrope

Horrible, and another asshole drunk driver.  This is why whenever I stand in those median strips, I try to stand behind the lightpole so that I have some kind of barrier I can try to hide behind.
