Video: Virtuoso Parallel Parking In Bushwick, Caught On Surveillance Cam
New Yorkers are masters at fitting ten pounds of flour in a five pound bag, and here's the latest example of our ingenuous use of extremely limited space: A driver happens upon a coveted parking spot that's barely inches larger than his vehicle, and he MAKES IT WORK. That's just what we do. The tipster who sent us this video says, "I was leaving for work the other day and noticed a parked car that was boxed in tight. It was gone that night when I came home, but the cars in front and back were still there. Curious, I checked my security camera:
The video was taken in Bushwick, not far from the Wyckoff Heights Hospital, which makes parking in short supply in the surrounding area—but not if you dare to dream and tell yourself anything's possible. At press time, the driver of the car has not been identified, but we think we have a hunch who he is.

I live pretty close to that area (within walking distance of the hospital mentioned). IMHO, if you live that close to three subway lines in a neighborhood this dense and insist on owning a car, you deserve a few "love taps". I sincerely doubt the guy did any noticeable damage to either car anyway. The video is obviously sped up, it's not like he flew in there and pulled a Kramer.
My best parking job EVER in the city was while I was completely out of my mind from dealing with bedbugs and had to move my car for street cleaning. I got my car into a spot with two inches on each side to spare and I did it with sheer will power. It was incredible.

Besides all the blah blah blah. This clown repeatedly banged both cars not giving a shit.. So lets all be honest, just how YOU react if you walked up and saw someone doing this to YOUR car reguardless of the car's age.... I could almost bet NO one would be please and HELL yeah words would be exchanged... or as someone stated..FLAT tires or to add a few bustd windows,,,,.. But still no excuse to disrespect someones car...
If one of the cars this IDIOT hit in the front or back was mine this guy would come out to find his tires flat, windows, smashed, and whatever else I could do.

DUDE! You live in g-d damn Tennessee. Who cares what you think about parking in NYC? Next time someone bumps their wide load into your car while loading up on Twinkies at the local Wal Mart, feel free to go ape-shit and get yourself shot up with a 12-gauge.
My guess is, though, that you're a tough-talking Southern sissy.

Is six times enough?

the other day a douche bumped into my front bumper while i was waiting inside the car. (i wasnt paying attention while playing with the phone) but the asshole had the gall to bump again a second time and this time a lot harder. so i got out of the car and screamed at him, guy just walked right out of his car into the stupid 99cent store without even saying sorry.
I was waiting inside my parked car in the east village when a cab pulled up behind me and hit my bumper hard enough to crack one of my fog lights. He got out of his car, walked away quickly and I called the cops to file an accident report. They repeatedly made me confirm that it was actually the now parked cab that had hit me, not a different car because they couldn't believe that he would leave his car there without talking to me instead of speeding away. It earned him a charge of leaving the scene of a crime.

I've bumped cars while people were in them and never had an issue.... I've also been bumped while in my car and could have cared less (As long as it's not too hard). I have to say I'm surprised by how much people are flipping out about this. I always assumed this is what bumpers are for.
That's where you scratch a few choice words on his hood with a key

Bumper-tag! I know it well.
But that's not a good parking job- way too far from the curb. I call recent transplant, or not used to that car.

A recent transplant wouldn't have even attempted it.

I'd be on that mother fucker like a silver-back gorilla if I drove that piece of shit minivan and lived in piece-of-shit Bushwick. That's not what bumpers are for, that's what your mom is for.

It's a phony picture.
No one would ever leave a bike rack on the back of their car overnight in Bushwick.

DICK!

And he has a bike rack, BIG SURPRISE!

That's obnoxious. He's lucky he didn't have 4 flat tires. I grew up in NY and never would I do that. I don't care how precious parking spots are. I don't bump peoples cars to get into a spot. Nor do I park so tight that they would have a hard time pulling out.
