Last Night's Action: Almost

The Giants did a lot of things well in their 38-35 loss to Green Bay, but ultimately the defense let them down again. New York trailed 35-27 with just over three minutes remaining in the game before launching a nine-play drive to tie the game. Hakeem Nicks caught his second touchdown of the game to make it 35-33 and D.J. Ware punched the two-point conversion into the end zone to tie things up. But, New York left 58 seconds on the clock and that proved to be way too much time.

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay offense took over at their own 20 and quickly moved into field goal range. Rodgers moved the offense 68 yards in under a minute and the Packers kicked the game-winning field goal as time expired to remain perfect. The one consolation the Giants can take from this game is that Dallas also lost. That means that despite losing four-straight, New York controls its own destiny.

The Jets let another inferior team hang around far too long, but used a big fourth quarter to defeat Washington 34-19. New York trailed 16-13 with just under 8 minutes remaining in the game, but Shonn Greene ran for two touchdowns, giving him three for the game and Santonio Holmes caught a 30-yard TD from Mark Sanchez. The Jets are now 7-5 and in a three-way tie for the final wild card spot.

Please stop referring to the Giants as "New York", they play in New Jersey. They're as New York as Hoboken.

What?  Oh yeah, and their players aren't even from here!  What right do they have to be a New York franchise!  Clown.

The defense did a solid job. It's not easy when you stop drives and the refs drop a flag because they want the Packers offense to stay on the field...

The defense may have let them down in the end, but the end would have occured before the half if they hadn't played as well as they did throughout the game.
