This article is confusing. If she delivered the baby, and it was stillborn, can someone please tell me why she's being charged for self-abortion? Is it because she threw her stillborn in the trash? The way this is written makes it sound like Almonte is being charged for miscarrying, which is just ridiculous.

A fetus is in no way an infant. An embryo even less so. At best, you can argue feticide, but that sounds stupid several different ways.

This is the exact reason that my mother, a devout Christian, supports pro-choice.  She knew one too many girls in the 50's that got back alley abortions and suffered because of it.  Idiot conservatives trying to save the life of a non-existent baby (think about this, "patriots": it's not an American until it's born, so it doesn't have any rights under our Constitution, therefore no right to life, liberty or the pursuit of happiness until it is a living, breathing human being) need to rethink their positions and show some compassion to the actual, living human that is carrying around that maybe baby.

Agreed.  I think they care more about that unborn fetus because of its potential taxpayer status, or soldier in their army, or some other twisted, evil bullshit.  It's definitely not about the sanctity of life with them, just like it wasn't about the sanctity of marriage when they refused to allow gay people to marry.
