Last Night's Action: Streak Comes Crashing Down

2008_12_rangerslogo.jpg After seven straight wins, the Rangers saw their streak end in quiet fashion with a 4-0 loss at Montreal. Martin Biron took his first loss after three straight wins, but he didn't get much help. The Rangers had 17 shots but couldn't find their way by Carey Price. Losses are a rare thing for the Rangers, but this was the only the third time the Rangers trailed entering the third period.

Martin Brodeur lost his shutout bid in the third period, but the Devils still beat Canadiens, 4-2. David Clarkson had a goal and an assist, and Patrik Elias had his eighth goal of the season. Dainius Zubrus got the scoring started just 1:09 into the game.

Things didn't go so well for the Islanders, who lost, 6-0, to the Bruins. They had all their 22 shots turned aside by Tim Thomas. By the time the first period ended, the Islanders were down, 3-0, and the game was effectively over.

On Ed Westfall night that piece of shit DiPeitro is in net. That is some way to honor the man who was the first captain and scored the first goal in franchise history. Chuckie Wang, please sell the franchise...

Rangers' streak is over, but the Bruins' streak continues.

The Bruins showed up for their game, and the Rangers missed the flight.
