Video: Herman Cain Continues Denial Tour, Ron Paul Jumps Ahead In Iowa

Herman Cain engages David Letterman in a stirring conversation on the Eurozone's monetary crisis, and reveals that his favorite composer is Brahms (Screenshot)

Subliminal smoking advertiser and 2012 presidential candidate Herman Cain went on Letterman last night to deny, for the 653th time, that he has ever sexually harassed anyone. When asked by the host (who admits he's "no stranger to sexual scandal" himself) if "These statements are all false? All of these women are lying? They're all lying?" Cain responds, "Yes. They are." Well, that settles it!

The former fast food executive was recently given Secret Service protection, the first candidate in the race to have it. Although a representative from the agency declined to tell the Times why he's receiving it, Cain and his bodyguards have had several coarse encounters with the press recently.

But perhaps what Cain should be worrying about more than the Lamestream Media is his dipping poll numbers. A Bloomberg poll shows—gasp—RON PAUL narrowly leading the field in Iowa with 19 percent! One Iowan Paul supporter tells the Times, "The reaction is, ‘Oh, the guy is fringe, he’s crazy,’"he said. “People tell me, ‘You’re throwing away your vote.’ I said to myself: ‘Chuck, you wore the uniform, you fought for the right to vote. If you’re voting with your heart, I don’t think you’re throwing away your vote.’" Throw, toss—tomato, to-mah-to.

But how much does Iowa even matter given Mitt Romney's massive lead in New Hampshire? Paul is at 17% to Romney's 40%, and Iowa is the most conservative Republican primary state, "an outlier even by the standards of a conservative party." Can we just get it over with and elect President Gingrich already?

    Gingrich already imploded, he's out.

And it must've been a real mess to clean up, like blowing up a burlap sack with 300 pounds of bacon in it.

  • Ron Paul ahead in Iowa?  "Oh, it doesn't mean anything because Romney is ahead in NH".

Say, Michele Bachmann or Rick Perry ahead in Iowa?  "Oh, they're very serious contenders."

  • Ron Paul's foreign policy is what this
country needs. University of Chicago professor Robert Pape's studies

Look at Ron Paul take a close look he's a family man never had a affair, he is his own man never had a lobbyist pulling his strings, cares for his fellow Americans not corporate whores r us.

History Ron Paul  has been in politics for over a quarter century has never wavered from America's core U.S.A. constitution values, This is America's chance to break free of the Bush Families political cabal such as LBJ, Nixon, Carter, Reagan, Both Clintons, Obama, Romney, Gringrich, Huntsman, Cain not to mention the supporting cast of Neo Con Connecticut Clowns.

But if you like all of your money going directly to the corporate military, Home Land Security, CIA, ATF, FBI, NSA  dogs of war vote for anyone but Ron Paul and keep cheering the decline of the American Republic.

Gingrich is a lying scumbag. Ron Paul 2012.

  • m015094

Well, the first comment by Jamie_McDonald turned out to be true.  A boring story about Herman Cain drew the Paul-tards out of the woodwork.  And I say this as someone who supported Ron Paul in 2008 - stop it with the conspiracy theory crap.  Ron Paul doesn't believe 9/11 was an inside job and neither should you.

  • Elderta2

Oh yes, please, Gothamist, MORE Ron Paul stories, just for the comments that clearly convince me NOT to vote for him. Thanks!

  • shocktheday

If you're basing your decision on Gothamist posts, then you shouldn't vote.

  • Elderta2

Ooh, you so clever. If you think I base my vote on Gothamist, however, then maybe you're not so clever.

  • woops posted again...i was like where did it go? hahah
    thank you

  • @ Jamie. When it comes to our genes, we share 99.9999999999_%. There’s a lot of ‘Paultards’ in every one of us: (ah) you included. Call it Liberty.  In the 20s and 60s it was called Liberation. Same cause except for liberty empowers the individual not a group. I admire that in you, Jamie, as I do with others… being an individual. But always to be a democrat? Sounds like always voting Republican. Herd like.
     Exit the group.
    Exit your reactive mind.
I have hope that there are ideals residing in you that compliments with Dr. Paul? Admit. (Okay)
I recommend you keep with the name calling, if it’s in your nature perhaps to do so.
You’re an exciting person like Shirley Phelps and those “GOD HATE FAGS” folks.  They unite a community against them, everywhere, every time. And who benefits? Ah -So to you, Thank YOU.  You are salt to our dinner, or rather excitement to us. Hey tell me, what do you obsess about more…Think/Feel…is it Obama or being against Ron “Paultards?” Join the Change for Liberty. Jamie, Occupy yourself and rethink the role of government. It’s where I found myself to be the “Paultard!”
Bye, bye Obama, and clap your hands for Ron Paul 2012.

  • Ox4ord

Wow, I had a certain affinity for Ron Paul...until I read the postings of his supporters here.

  • wish you well

    here you are. Jamie:
Once he wins a single primary, which he has not managed to do in not one but two electoral cycles, then we can talk about whether he's a force to be reckoned with. Until then, he's a greedy, sniveling old man with a following of paranoiac psychopaths (see above). "

What the Ron Paul haters are now experiencing is what the CIA calls blowback. Happy to have educated them on the consequences of U.S. foreign policy through direct example here.
      Ooh Raah,

    Ron Paul 2012

An idea whose time has come cannot be stopped by any government or army.

What is wrong with a state determining any given policy over which it governs it's inhabitants?  The voters are the ones deciding, they have the right to move to a different state with different policies.  What we currently have now is a national democracy (the liberties of the few - you and me - are taken away by the blessing of mass opinion).  It is so that people in other parts of the USA can decide for me what I can do with my body.  Making this form of policy national, makes it harder for me to prosper in my God given right of freedom.  This is the point of denationalizing laws, and allowing states to control specifics.  Grievances can be resolved at the state level if need be (after the family, and city levels), and if a drastic enough issue arose, it could be elevated to the national level for resolution and judgment.  In order for liberty and freedom to thrive it takes a self governing majority who vote in the right leaders.  Our constitution was based on the Israelite's commands passed on to them by God when under the leadership of Moses, according to their written law, the Bible. It can be, and is often compared (See "The 5000 Year Leap").

We have a new form of government which continually grants itself power. The Federal Reserve is the biggest lobbyist counterfeit end all- be all branch of secret deals and world influence- so as long the US currency remains the reserve currency of the world.    If one can not see the danger in this form of legalized counter fitting, one might be willing to accept a less than optimal, continually decreasing ability to retain ones own liberty.  One is willing to work and be part of a system in which the money earned for trade of labor, is actually owned by someone else, and has no part, and no say over it's purchasing power. Ron Paul has written extensively regarding centralized nationalization, specifically focusing on the creation of the Fed, the times when the Fed made it possible for the US Government to enter into war, the moral hazard which the Fed induces on society in all parts, and sectors. With the Fed and its current ability, the government has limitless debt creation power, and for the last 40 years, each administration has tapped into it's sovereign power to accomplish its agenda, at the people's expense.  Fifteen trillion dollars debt and more growing every day, how will we ever be able to escape an out of control, secret, world government lobbying, money creator super power, who literately can cause, and is causing global economic meltdown in which the poor, and middle class get stuck, and eventually get wiped out.

It's a real threat, an idea which takes careful understanding and devotion - as our founding fathers had.  Ron Paul is as concerned as they would be.  He has my vote, even if I have to write him in.
