Two Boots Debuts Vegan Pie For Vegan Month

pizzavegan1011.jpg

As you may or may not know, November is apparently Vegan Month and today is World Vegan Day. And while you may not have known it, that fact was not lost on the pizzaiolos over at Two Boots. The popular cornmeal pizza chain today has launched a new pie for November only: the "V For Vegan." Featuring Daiya non-dairy cheese, artichokes, shitakes, red onions, and a criss-cross of basil and red pepper pestos, it even sounds pretty tasty.

Curious, but not sure if you want to put down your good money on a vegan slice of 'za (it goes for $4 a pop), no worries! As EVGrieve notes today, the chain's Avenue A location will be giving out free slices tonight from 6 to 8 p.m.

Before you haters start with your hating, why don't you try a slice?  I actually did and I have to say it is really good.  They should make it a staple.  Go Two Boots!!!

I went with my girlfriend to try a free slice yesterday.  It was pretty amazing, and we ended up buying some slices.  Hooray for vegan pizza!

Would you people chill the fuck out already? Vegans are cool. I respect their commitment. Factory farming of dead animal flesh has changed the planet for the worst, are you joking? For that reason alone you need to question eating meat. The vegans are the least of your problems.

Two Boots has always been a decent pizzeria. Go Two Boots.

  • There are so many reasons to choose a vegan lifestyle. Here are two short videos to help everyone understand why so many are making this life-altering choice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v... and http://www.veganvideo.org

  • There's got to be something better to call it than "non-dairy cheese", right?

  • Yay! Thanks for letting us know. This vegan will be happy to try it :)

    Me too!  Yay!

Largely copied from Wikipedia, but November is also:
Native American Heritage Month, Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, COPD Awareness month, National Novel Writing Month, Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month, American Diabetes Month, Lung Cancer Awareness Month, National Homeless Youth Awareness Month, Crohn's & Ulverative Colitis Awareness Month, National Pomegranate Month.

November is also International Drum Month.

But I wonder, why does the Vegan Society want to have November as it's month?  Perhaps to force a confrontation because of another well-established holiday at the end of the month?

  • LtWorf

I think it's just the day, not the Month. If it was the Month, they should relax. Vegans don't need an entire month to remind non-vegans that they exist. They do it every friggin day.

  • Sigh, nope. According to whatever powers that be that make these things, today is World Vegan Day and November is Vegan Month. Damned if I know why though.

  • FU Boy

From the Vegan Society website: "World Vegan Day marks the start of World Vegan Month every year, commemorating the coining of the term, 'vegan' and the founding of The Vegan Society in November 1944."

An entire month to celebrate the title 'vegan' and a society of 4000 people.

I think Lung Cancer, Alzheimer's, Diabetes, or hell, even Pomegranate appreciation is more worthy of taking November as it's month.

  • LtWorf

Its probably because of the proximity to Thanksgiving... Leave it to Vegans to spoil Thanksgiving Dinner for everybody.

  • FU Boy

    Yeah, That's what I'm thinking.

  • theevilerone

I love vegans. They taste like chicken.

  • canofpeas

My vegan cock in your mouth tastes like chicken?  Interesting; that might be the result of the gluten free.

  • theevilerone

    Charming.
