Last Night's Action: A Win!

2008_12_rangerslogo.jpg Credit Henrik Lundqvist with the Rangers first win of the year, a 4-0 victory in Vancouver. Lundqvist was dominant, stopping 40 shots and keeping New York in the game while they were out-shot 28-9 through the first two periods. The offense finally woke up in the third with Mike Rupp scoring his first goal as a Ranger two minutes in. Ryan McDonagh, Brian Boyle and Marian Gaborik followed with goals and New York has its first win of the season.

  • Luongo sucks. Even the Isles knew this though it doesn't excuse the DiPietro contract. It's going to be a long season for the Rangers. Enjoy watching Brad Richards tank in the twilight of his career Ranger fans.

Thank you Lundqvist. But 7(?) penalties... come on, fellas!

Oh whoopie the Rangers won a game!!! How does Glen Sather and Torts still have a job?

  • antifangirl

With all the penalties this team takes, they're lucky that Henrik Lundqvist continues to play like Henrik Lundqvist.

Yeah, you get a win in Vancouver for the first time in 14 years, but you still played like garbage.  Wake up.  You can't just talk about staying out of the penalty box; you actually have to do it.
