Teen Fatally Shot Near Ave C, 16 Others Shot Around NYC Over Weekend

A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot near Avenue C and East 12th Street early Sunday morning, the Daily News reports. Keith Salgado was shot by unknown assailants around 1:50 a.m. and rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he died hours later. No arrests have been made, and his cousin tells the News, "We were hanging out last night and he decided to split for five minutes. In five minutes, he got shot." Police sources tell Fox 5 the shooting may have been gang-related.

Salgado was one of 17 people shot over the weekend around New York City, and three people were also stabbed citywide. On Sunday morning in the Bronx, a man was shot a man in the head on Franklin Avenue around, according to the Daily News, 4:20 a.m. The unidentified victim is reportedly in critical condition.

Another Bronx man was fatally shot in the head outside a strip club in Bridgeport Connecticut. Police responding to 911 calls found 37-year-old Shawn Parks unresponsive behind the wheel of his crashed vehicle. His passenger, 38-year-old Sherman Perry of Milford, was also injured with a gunshot with a gunshot wound to his leg. (The Hartford Courant reports that Perry is out on bail on charges of selling narcotics.) Witnesses say the shooting stemmed from an altercation inside the bar, but no arrests have been made.

    If the damn protesters would leave the entire NYPD force wouldnt have to babysit them and stop crime like this from happening

    If we actually taxed the rich, we'd actually be able to increase police levels. Haven't they been decreasing police levels because of budget cuts?

    But, yeah, lets blame the protesters instead.
