Customer-Bashing McDonald's Cashier Acted In Self-Defense, Says Dad

2011_10_mcdonbeat.jpg While Rayon McIntosh, the McDonald's cashier who was arrested after beating two unruly customers with a metal rod at the West 3rd Street joint, was charged with felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon, many people seemed to support his reaction. His dad points out to the Post, “You can’t go into a person’s workplace and attack them. Let’s be real now -- this was self-defense."

One of the customers slapped McIntosh when he went to check their $50 biill and then they both jumped the counter, prompting reactions like this one from our commenters, "i hope this guy beats the charge... from the description and video it looks like he kept his cool while getting completely harassed and then got slapped in the face and pursued behind the counter by a couple of complete lunatics. maybe he didn't have to hit them the 3rd or 4th time but that's adrenaline. good luck to him."

McIntosh, who has a manslaughter conviction from 2000 (he fatally shot a friend and another bullet struck a child; he was released from prison earlier this year), is being held in lieu of $40,000 bail at the Manhattan Detention Complex. The customers, Denise Darbeau and Rachel Edwards, were charged with charged with menacing, trespass and disorderly conduct. Darbeau also suffered a fractured skull and a broken arm."

McIntosh's father said, "We will not be railroaded," and hopes to hire a good defense lawyer. McDonald's issued a statement, "The violence in this video is alarming and reprehensible. The franchisee of this restaurant has told us that the individual involved no longer works for her organization. We strive to ensure that our McDonald's restaurants are safe and welcoming for our customers. Our franchisee is fully cooperating with authorities in the investigation."

I am due for jury duty soon. I pray I get selected for that jury. I would release this man with a pure conscience. He was working and was attacked by a mob of rejects who jumped a counter at the McDonalds. Yes, it would have been ideal if he would have stopped when the slobs were down on the floor, but my guess is that after being attacked like that, he was in shock. If I get into that jury room, the first thing I'm going to say is, "Ladies and gentlemen, you will not get a guilty vote from me, period." I have a feeling that this won't even go to a jury, though.

If you act like an animal, you get beat down like an animal. That is what happened.

In the immortal words of Dave Chappelle, the cops should've just sprinkled some crack on those bitches and chalk it up as "drug related".

  • Only feminazis don´t support self defense. This man really is an hero. Feminazis also defended Casey Anthony

Whether this is a reflection of a personal fault on behalf of Mr McIntosh, the conditioning that comes courtesy of a ten year stint in jail, the degenerative aura that comes from visiting an impersonal fast food vendor or simply the unresolved trauma of a man who has somehow confused and armed himself against what he perceives to be a hostile world is up for debate. But what oughtn’t be up for debate is the very serious nature of these two girl’s injuries.

Percieves to be a hostile world? IO'd say his perception matches reality

Good to see McDonald's has his back!  These are the kind of customers they want to feel safe & at home?

You bitches want fries with your beat-downs?  I got your fries right here and I'm gonna super-size them on your dumb gangstah-wanna-be ghetto asses.

  • Br00klynian

Let us be honest, they deserved to be beaten that bad. The man was defending himself.

  • bam_bam_slam

I would've still been hitting them when the cops arrived.

  • hafaadai

haha i bet both of the biotches wont jump over a counter again haha good on him

  • both parties are insanely retarded. fuck those girls for assaulting him. and he should have known better than to keep whacking on them after they were down and not getting back up. they both deserve some sort of lesson in "cut it the fuck out-ery."

reminds me of another great fight at a fastfood chain. I wonder if this is what he stopped. if so, he is a hero:

Self defense, pure and simple. Of course, it doesn't help him that he took a few more swings at them when they were down. But they got what they deserved. Next time, don't rush the counter. Call the cops.

  • Served time in Jail. Went get a job at Mc Donalds. Checked a bill as instructed probably, Was calm, got attacked. they jumped over the counter. when attacked, well, its called self defense...

Right up until he stopped and decided that they needed a little bit more metal pipe across the head.

Bernie Goetz was guilty for pretty much the same thing and so is this guy.

  • The_Green_Devil

Yeah, Bernie Goetz- because those chicks sitting in cars making out with their boyfriends is the same as a couple of deranged hobags jumping a counter and assaulting someone.

  • Guest

What are you even talking about? OMG - do you think I'm talking about David Berkowitz?

  • thetailor

Bernie Goetz?  Your statement couldn't be more untrue.
