Video: FOX News, Geraldo Flee From Occupy Wall Street Protesters

Just last Sunday, FOX News' Geraldo Rivera had some relatively thoughtful things to say in Zuccotti Park about the Occupy Wall Street protesters gaining momentum. But yesterday, when Giraldo tried to return to the park for a followup, he was shouted down with chants of "FOX News lies!" We would have preferred "Where's Al Capone?!" or "Dig That 'Stache!"

Occupy Wall Street also got another TV boost from Jesse LaGreca, the Daily Kos blogger who dismantled a FOX News producer for Greta Van Susteren last week. LaGreca appeared on This Week and answered questions from denim-denouncing bowtie George Will and the Wall Street Journal's Miss Manners, Peggy Noonan.

In speaking about the demonstrator's advances made since September 17, LaGreca notes, "I think we have succeeded tremendously in pushing the narrative that working class people can no longer be ignored, and I think it’s very important that we have this conversation, because it is about the future of our country."

Funny, I remember reading somewhere that the protesters welcomed all viewpoints to come and engage in friendly debate.  Furthermore, if the protesters had went to the Fox News headquarters and Fox employees had shouted them down, they would certainly have whined about not being able to engage in free speech, etc, etc...

Good to see them humiliated and forced to leave.  Their worthless coverage won’t be missed.

Maybe the protesters could have used their airtime to say something intelligent and try to entice some conservatives to at least respect, if not support, their cause.

Yes, let's not forget how much the respect and support of Geraldo Rivera and Fox News means in this world.

  • @mo15094:disqus  exactly shenanigans. They even threw water. Geraldo walked away. See it all I was right next to Geraldo. www.handcraftedbymartin.com

Super. Complain about lack of media coverage while shouting a major news organization away from your protest.  That makes a TON of sense.

  • Fox is not a news organization.

You're supposed to write FAUX news. You will be penalized.

Whatever your ideology may happen to be, one has to agree on this: a legitimate news organization is an unbiased one.

When asked if the Occupiers were planning to "harness this into a political movement,” his answer is no? Hilarious!
Thanks for proving the Occupiers are wasting their time Jesse.

Jesse had some good things to say.

He had a real chance to nail George Will on the woefully simplistic right wing tea party narrative "if you think government isn't working well, why would you want it larger" question, and dropped the ball.

Its not the size of government that is the most important question, it is its effectiveness in serving the needs of the population.  Right now we have a medium small government that fails quite miserably in serving the needs of the population.  Making it smaller for the sake of the childishly simplistic analysis of small=good, big=bad isn't going to help the majority of people in this country, especially when the economic mess was largely caused by the government failing do to what it needed to do to regulate wall st. and financial institutions.  The recession is a direct result of the government not being effective enough.  Maybe it was big enough, but it wasn't effective enough because it had been bought off by the people who needed to be regulated.
