October is beer month at Gothamist, and our mission is to bring you a new beer-related post every day, until our hangovers become so crippling we wind up forgetting what we promised halfway through the month. For today's beer-related report, we'd like to call attention to our BFFs at the Village Voice, who will be throwing a big craft beer bash in Brooklyn on Saturday, October 15th. And this isn't happening at any old Brooklyn dump; the first annual Brooklyn Pour will go down at the old Williamsburg Savings Bank in Ft. Greene, which is now called Skylight One Hanson. This place is spectacular, and everybody's gonna get laid.
The inaugural Brooklyn Pour craft beer festival will feature over 100 local craft beers, from over 50 brewers, along with food and entertainment, to be consumed over the course of three hours. $40 gets you complimentary beer tastings, a souvenir glass, and the chance to start your Saturday night right with a fresh pair of beer goggles. (Proceeds will go to the Brooklyn Food Coalition, a grassroots organization committed to the vision of a just and sustainable food system in Brooklyn.)
Beers on tap range, alphabetically, from the Abita Brewing Company all the way to Wolaver's Fine Organic Ales, with Flying Dog, Original Sin, Pretty Things and more in between. Peruse the whole cast list here—it seems like a fun party; just be sure to take all necessary shitshow precautions.
