Subway Face Slasher Attacking Female 4 Train Riders In The Bronx

Scary subways! Police are searching for a young woman who slashed two random passengers in the face on subways in the Bronx. The first unprovoked attack took place on September 6 on a northbound 4 train at the East 170th Street station at around 4:20 p.m., when the suspect approached a 19-year-old woman and suddenly pulled out a sharp object, sliced the woman in the face, and fled. The second attack came on September 12, at about 3:55 p.m., on the southbound 4 train near Mount Eden Avenue, when the suspect approached an 18-year-old woman and slashed her in the face before escaping.

Police haven't identified the sharp object the slasher is using, but they describe the suspect as Black or Hispanic, between 17 and 25 years old, standing nearly 5’5″ and weighing almost 165 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black hoodie and plastic gloves, and so far authorities have been unable to determine a motive for her seemingly random attacks.

Female straphangers are concerned by the incidents: "That's unbelievable, now everyone has to worry about riding the train," one woman told NBC. "That shouldn't be. Everyone should feel safe on the train." “That’s scary. That’s scary,” another told CBS. “It shocks me it’s a woman, I’d expect it to be a man,” said another.

Both women who were cut were left with "serious injuries," and one woman ended up in the hospital to receive stitches. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS or at nypdcrimestoppers.com.

I hope this individual gets caught really soon and brought to justice.
Such a shame that the victims suffered serious injuries, because of this sick person.

scary enough i go to bronx high school of science and i was riding the 4 train on those 2 days on the exact same times O.o -_- now im skared

I highly doubt it's gang related. She is a serial slasher based on her MO and I would be willing to bet that from a psychological standpoint she is targeting only women near her age range and of her own ethnicity. Furthermore, I would be willing to bet that she is a lesbian (possibly closeted) and that these attacks are sexually motivated (as most serials are).

This sounds like the gang initiation slashings the Bloods were doing back in the late 90's when I was in high school. I hope this isn't another round of that. That was awful.

I also thought that it may be gang related. It's sad. That's why I moved closer to where my wife works so that she doesn't have to take the train. Plus, walking is good for her and the environment...
