We may have lost R.E.M. yesterday, but when God closes a door, He opens a window. And in this case, that window is Axl Rose's promise that Guns n' Roses will be touring the U.S. next year. We take what we can get. The band has spent the past two years touring outside of the States, so hopefully Axl's voice is nice and warmed up.
According to MTV they'll be doing a 30 night run at arenas, starting on October 28th. They won't be hitting up NYC proper, but their tour does include two stops in New Jersey (East Rutherford and Camden), and one in Hartford. Where do you think their secret NYC show will be... Rose Bar?
The lineup now includes Axl, guitarists DJ Ashba, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal and Richard Fortus, bassist Tommy Stinson, longtime keyboardist Dizzy Reed (along with keyboardist Chris Pitman) and drummer Frank Ferrer. But now, a look back at the old G n' R we knew and loved:

#1) Chinese Democracy is a good album. If this were put out as some random rock band's debut, it would be considered quite differently. The guitar work is hard core.
#2) All of the negative attention is Axl's fault, so it's all on him. He should not be touring or putting out albums under the Gnr name
#3) Still a great time going to see Axl Rose..no matter what the name of the band is. Respect the voice!

I get the impression that Roger_The_Shrubber is a fucking cock sucker. What a ridiculous ill informed comment to make. Fuck off and die motherfucker!!!
Chinese Democracy debuted #1 on the charts in thirteen countries. It reached 3 times Platinum in Canada, Platinum in Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Poland, Romania, Switzerland, UK, Argentina, New Zealand and South Africa. The album is Gold in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Greece, Hungary, Holland, Sweden, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Brazil and Colombia. In the U.S., the album was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on February 3, 2009.
I don't know about you, but to me, this is pretty good! Just because it doesn't live up to Appetite doesn't mean it sucks. Thats the problem with people in America. They want it to be Appetite or for Slash to be there, It's time to move on people. If you do, you might realize that this band is pretty dang good.
GNR tours more than most other bands and plays more shows than most others. The Illusions Tour I believe ranks as the longest tour in Rock. And for all the shows that Axl has done over the years, it's a rare thing that one is cancelled...but for some reason, when one does get cancelled, hes on the front page. Why don't you hear about other bands cancellations throughout the year?? Because Axl is a bigger deal than most.
And remember people, GNR will come on stage late in the night (anywhere from 10:30-11:30 on average) after the opening band(s) at 9pm. They have done it since they started way back in the day. It's just who they are. But when they do, they will put on a hell of a show.

The Canadians also think The Guess Who are one of the greatest bands ever. I listened- make that tried to listen- to Chinese Democracy and I was glad I skimmed it off the internet and didn't pay good money for it. And Axl's little prima donna bullshit barely flew when he A> had talent and B> had Slash and the boys playing behind him. Now he's just a washed-up punk whose voice is shot who still thinks he's somebody and his efforts are an embarrassment on par with that scene in "Boogie Nights" when Dirk and his coked-up buddy tried making a record.

FU! How dare you mock the greatness of You've Got The Touch ?

It's because I'm a terrible terrible person, Angrygod.

So the fans get to wait for Axl to come on 3 hours late with some crappy G&R cover band and then watch him embarrass himself trying to hit the high notes. Rockin' good times. Where do I sign up?
hahaha, 1 good album...haha. They will be in the Rock N Roll Hall of fame for Gods sake. And Chinese Democracy was good as well. Appetite, no, but good. Just about any band out there would take the sales and recognition that CD got

I am going to go out on a limb and guess that's one more great album than you ever put out.
NVRMOR
One album which happens to be one of the best rock n roll albums ever.

Yeah, because the Use Your Illusion albums didn't sell well at all and produce any hits, right?
