Police released a sketch and surveillance video of a man suspected of attacking a woman on a F train, stealing her purse and demanding she give him her underwear. WCBS 2 reports the incident occurred at 2:25 a.m. yesterday morning: "Police said a man tried to sexually assault a woman at knifepoint inside a subway station... The woman was allegedly attacked while sitting on a southbound F train at 2:25 a.m. at the Fort Hamilton Parkway station." Police do not think that this incident is connected to the serial sexual assaults in Park Slope, Sunset Park and Bay Ridge.

The suspect put his hand on the victim's neck and, while wielding a knife, he "allegedly took her pocketbook, which had an iPhone and money in it. Police said the suspect then demanded the victim remove her underwear, but no sexual assault was committed."

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 45-50 years old, 5' 10" and 200 pounds, with a bald head, stocky build and scruffy facial hair.

I hope this sick pathetic individual, so hard up, that he has to use a knife to demand
a women's underwear, gets arrested very soon and remanded to Rikers Island.

This isn't Prospect Heights, nor is it "Prospect Park" as the reporter said.  I know journalistic standards have plummeted these days, but is it too much to ask that they find out what neighborhood they are reporting from?  (it's Windsor Terrace)

  • ANGRYGOD11

Unless that was his intention, its very possible any panties demanded at knife-point would be soiled.

  • PrettyAmiable

OMG this is what I thought. What do you call poo-fetishists?

  • ANGRYGOD11

    Republicans.

  • PrettyAmiable

    poophiles, I've decided.

  • souper_crackers

Crap, that's my stop! Guess I should start wearing panties now (HELLO FELLAS)

  • whatidsay

I'm not trying to blame the vicitm or anything, but exactly what kind of people do you expect to run into on the subway at 2:25 in the morning?

  • RadioGagarin

Right, women should never go anywhere unaccompanied, clearly, or else they're asking for it. Guess I better employ a personal male chaperone to take care of little ole me or any attack or assault I suffer is my own fault!

  • ANGRYGOD11

Newsflash: Most women don't ride the subway by themselves at night for the sheer joy of it.

  • Innajunglestylee

So you are trying to blame the victim.

Two assaults in one night - http://blogs.villagevoice.com/... - can Gothamist make two dismissive jokes in one day? I know you can!

  • RadioGagarin

All these assaults in my neighbourhood are really unnerving. I frequently walk home from my friends' place a few blocks away in the evening (before midnight, but usually after 9pm at least) and I'm always on full alert because of it, but it makes me fear going outside by myself sometimes.

The Park Slope Bike Patrol made themselves known to me on the street last night which did make me feel better to know someone was looking out, which is great. Still, I especially hate the thought that if I did get assaulted, people would probably blame me for daring to be outside doing things unaccompanied because I made the mistake of being born a woman.

man the word(and saying it) "panties" infuriates me and i dont know why.
