A chivalrous teen was gunned down by two assailants while walking his girlfriend home in the Bronx yesterday. Jose Webster, 16, was walking with girlfriend Aniik Wallace, 16, on Teller Avenue a few blocks from his home when the two men approached them and reportedly started a fight around 9 p.m. last night. One of the suspects fatally shot him in the chest.

A witness described the harrowing scene to the Post, saying that Wallace leaned over Webster's body, and begged him not to leave her, while he lay on the ground trying to breathe. Wallace implied that Webster had been in trouble in the past, but was trying to turn his life around by attending school more regularly. He had lost both his father and grandfather, and needed a stronger father figure in his life, but "he told me he was going to change and better himself," she said.

She said Webster, who loved playing basketball with his cousins, was a good boyfriend: "He was always there for me. I woke up at 5 a.m. crying, I just keep thinking about him. I'm going to try and get through this, it's hard." Wallace and Webster's mother are planning a memorial candlelight vigil on Sunday at the basketball court on Webster Avenue, near 169th Street. Police are still searching for the suspects.

what are those types of areas

  • Lets be real "The ghetto The hood"

  • m015094

I wonder what he did that these thugs thought he deserved a bullet.

  • Most likely nothing. In those types of areas all you have to do is look at a person and or walk on the wrong side of the street and your dead...

  • ButtPlugs

We don't know that, nor does the daily news since no one likes to talk... It can be a case of mistaken identity, beef, or he had something they want and he resisted.

Can we just make the Bronx disappear... please?

  • Why ? There are some very beautiful parts of the bronx that are kept low key. And we don't have this type of mess going on.. 1 being Riverdale BX... Look it up sweety !

  • Does anyone on this site really care about this person.  After all its not about the nypd ticketing a poor harmless cyclist.  no one on her is going to spill some of their hippy beer in rememberance of this person who was a drain on society.

  • economatronic

Generally, I think that the stories that get the least comments are the one we all agree on the most. We all think this is sad and heartbreaking, there's nothing to fight about here. We all care, we just don't need to argue about it.

    dont feed the trolls.

  • You must be a really nice person.

  • No. He's just a douche who is a drain on society. Someone please flush him out.

Strict licensing for all guns especially handguns. If a gun is sold, it needs to have ownership papers registered for the purchaser. If you are caught with gun that cannot be legally connected to you -- mandatory ten years in prison. If you sell a gun illegally, twenty years in prison plus confiscation of your assets. That should make a dent.

  • Investigate-NWO-globalists

Those gestapo tactics may scare some law-abiding citizens, but criminals won't give a damn.

  • splicernyc

Which part are "gestapo tactics"? Requiring the same thing as car and home owners are asked to have or the draconian penalties? If you think gun ownership should be anonymous then I demand why you overlook the part in the Second Amendment that mentions a well-regulated militia. In this country, we have well regulated militias on the federal, state and local level.

might be a good idea to brush up on your gun laws.

  • theoddfather

How sad. Guns need to be taken off the streets immediately. It feels like we hear stories like this every day. It's not right.
