Lost Court Battle Proves NJ Hates Boobs

Phoenix Feeley, a 31-year-old who has won NYC suits for being wrongly busted for baring her breasts, just lost a bare boob battle over in New Jersey.

Feeley (whose real name is Jill Coccaro) was arrested and charged twice in the state in 2008 for refusing to sunbathe with a top on. She appealed the charges, but an appeals panel ruled against her today.

According to NJ.com, "judges argued there was no constitutional right for women to appear topless at a public beach, and that covering the female breast is important to safeguard 'the public's moral sensibilities.'" (For more on that, check out Jezebel.)

Some New Jersey ladies have been crusading for a topless beach in the Garden State, but have been told to keep their tops on again and again.
