Eight People Shot, Injured At Bronx House Party Last Night

The NYPD released this photo of 17-year-old Oneil Dasilva, who is wanted in last night's shooting in the Bronx.

Eight people—including three children—were shot after a teenaged gunman opened fire at a house party in the Bronx last night. The Daily News reports that one 24-year-old victim remains in critical condition after a bullet hit his chest, but the other shooting victims, including an 11-year-old boy, a 13-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl are expected to survive. Police are looking for 17-year-old Onell Dasilva of Mount Vernon, as they believe he is responsible for the shootings, which occurred at 3:39 a.m. on East 221st street at Carpenter Avenue in Williamsbridge.

According to those who attended the mayor's press conference this morning, Mayor Bloomberg stated that there were 25 shootings reported in the city last night, and that "11 were from the same party." It's unclear whether Bloomberg was referring to this particular house party or whether he was mistaken. We've asked the NYPD to confirm the number of reported shootings and are currently awaiting a response.

It takes a whole lot more than eight people getting shot to put a damper on that party!
