Photos, Video: NYers Secure 9/11 Memorial Tiles In West Village

With high winds and stormy weather on the way, a number of New Yorkers came together today to remove the beloved 9/11 "Memorial Tiles" that decorate a Greenwich Village fence. The tiles, which number in the thousands, were taken down and Jack Weingart Tweeted, "Will be moved to WTC site." He also added, "This is the first time the tiles are being taken down since 9/11." • I get a kick out of how the talking heads on the news spend all the time warning everyone to head to high ground and how foolish and dangerous it is to be outside. Then then pan to a reporter standing on the beach getting whipped by the wind talking about how windy it is. http://bit.ly/nrAUlt
