7-Year-Old Girl: Man Sniffed, Fondled, Kissed My Feet At Library

During a visit to a library in Astoria, Queens, a 7-year-old girl says that a man assaulted her—specifically her feet— while she was reading. The child told WCBS 2 that he “Sniffed them, rubbed them against his beard, and kissed them. Did it to each foot. And then he did the same and just sniffed my flip flops." Ughhhhhhh.

The girl had been reading on the floor in the children's section of the library on August when the alleged attack occurred. She said, “I didn’t know what to do. I was so petrified." Her mother is furious that if the sicko is caught, he'll only be charged with a misdemeanor for forcibly touching a minor, "It’s a misdemeanor? It’s the same thing as jaywalking? It’s not!" Enter City Councilman Peter Vallone (D-Queens) who says that he and other lawmakers are going to introduce a bill to make forcible touching of a minor a felony that's punishable up to four years (as a misdemeanor, the sentence is a max of eight months).

The girl said, “I want him to suffer, that’s all. I want him to suffer until he dies."

What about giving the offender psychological treatment, as he clearly has mental problems? What about making libraries better suited to prevent this kind of events in the future? How about increasing community awareness? Good neighborhoods and places police themselves, by the involvement of their residents. Instead the solution is a single-minded "build more jails - harsher sentences".

The solution, in the Great USA, is simple: "put more people in jail"! Let the taxpayer subside all these jails. For after all, as a nation our finances are so great that we can afford it. This is why the USA puts more people in jail than any other country. It's because of people like this councilman, along with those who vote for him, and their lack of common sense.

The guy in question, who forcibly touched a minor, definitely deserves to be punished. But has anyone thought that the guy has serious mental problems? If instead of being thrown in jail for a while, wouldn't he be less likely to offend if he was offered a psychological treatment?

wow this guy is sick-o! when he is caught, he should get his wish and be trapped in a room filled with overpoweringly disgusting, smelly, stinky feet stench all day long.

  • jisnotused

Every part of this article makes me not want children, especially the last part.

as was this predators 'impositions' on this un-supervised child, sexual aberrations like these, are steps to  more aggressive and invasive behaviors, if you will;__take a guess what its next steps will be ??...are you quite MAD ??Why should anyone find these actions acceptable. on ANY terms....disgusting fecal excrescence !

  • She's disturbingly vicious for a 7 year old, yeah?

  • dogbertt

No, she's more clear-headed than most whiny white criminal-coddlers 5 times her age.

  • JackBrat72

This poor child victim has been 'tainted' forever!
She will now have to marry with 'non-virginal' feet!

(Perhaps the victim's family can have this Gothamist article quashed- so no future suiter will be aware of the 'tainted' nature of the victims feet!)

Jaywalking isn't even close to a misdemeanor and a misdemeanor is punishable by up to 1 year in prison, not 8 months. Pretty creepy story though.

  • Mr. Know-It-All

I have a few questions about this story. Is there no supervision in the children's section of the library? Were there not even other children around? Are adults without children allowed to hang out in the children's section? How did this go on long enough for him to do both feet and her flip-flops without anyone noticing? A seven year-old child should not be left so thoroughly unsupervised for so long to let something like this happen.

  • I don't know the set-up of this library, but it's possible that adults could go to the 2nd floor for a restroom or a community room (my local library has both near the children's section—along with DVDs!).

    Pedobear approved.

    Could be worse.

  • bxquietstorm

She's gonna be like that chic in that movie Columbiana..."remember you raped my feet in the library 20 years ago...POW!!!..

  • Guest

even with consenting adults, foot fetishists are pretty fucking weird.

  • FU Boy

Which is why it really should be tried as a sex crime...

  • antimisogynycrusader

What if he had refrained from any sort of contact -would he have been charged with forcible sniffing?

  • How else do you check a book out of the library?

  • “I want him to suffer, that’s all. I want him to suffer until he dies." BADASS.

I hope she grows up to be Hit Girl.

  • FU Boy

Yeah, 'cause that worked out so well for her in the comic.  Who needs parents so long as you can get revenge?
