Video: Meet The New Muppets Theme Song

muppetsvideookgo0811.jpg

OK Go: they had you at treadmill, and now they're back with their own version of the Muppets theme song. The video, featuring a lot of Muppets!, was released today—check it out below.

The song is amongst those included on The Green Album (out today!), which features classic Muppets tunes performed by Weezer, Andrew Bird, My Morning Jacket, The Fray, and others. Over in Seattle they're accusing the Muppets of hitching on to the hipster thing as part of their grand comeback plans. But with an upcoming Jason Segal-scripted Muppets movie, Kermit doesn't really need the skinny-jean set (however, he would look great wearing a pair).

The " I believe that ship has sailed my friend" (and the very thoughtful "you've got fleas " moment) were hi-larious

Why must my love of Muppets be in conflict with my hate of Hipsters?  Were these people even ALIVE when the Muppet Show was produced?  Stop looting my childhood you skinny jeans wearing, slouch hat topped bearded jackasses!

    Statler and Waldorf RULE!

    WALDORF: They aren’t half bad.

    STATLER: Nope, they’re ALL bad!
