Lou Reed/Metallica Album Ominously Coming Soon

Remember that whole Lou Reed/Metallica cranky-metal collaboration that you wanted to forget about immediately after you heard about it? It's not going away—especially if you follow Lou Reed's Twitter, where he posted three reminders about the team-up this afternoon with links to the new site: Loureedmetallica.com.

Reed definitely doesn't look as out of place with the Metallicats as we thought he would—and his sweet chain really ties everything together. Even if they don't have a witty mashed-up band name, we still suggest they title the album something fun, like "Metallica Machine Music." If you want to get a taste of the pummeling riffs and staccato vocals we're in store for, check out the two performing a very heavy take on Velvet Underground's classic "White Light/White Heat" below:

This video is terrible! They made a whole album like this?

James looks like Robert just farted.  Either that, or he can smell the shit on Lars's upper lip from Lou's ass.

That rendition of "White Light/White Heat" was atrocious.  This collaboration may have actually been interesting in 1984, but neither party has released anything worth listening to in at least twenty years.

Lou looks like an exhumed corpse.

No, no - Lou is the Undead.
    He walks among us.

Gross. Possible album title - Kill Us All.

I'm still voting for "Some Kind of Nature/Monster" although they could even through "Hate" in there at the end since I know Metallica loves them some Misfits.

  • I'm so confused. I love Lou Reed but I defintely hate Metallica

You'll get over loving Lou Reed. But hating Metallica won't steer you wrong.
