When last we talked about the Rangers' Sean Avery the fashion-forward, fight-happy left wing was in Albany pushing for gay marriage. Today we find him getting arrested in LA after taunting the LAPD and, according to TMZ, calling them "fat little pigs."
Avery has already been released on $20,000 bail and is due to appear in court on September 2. The incident with police occurred early this morning when the LAPD arrived at Avery's Hollywood Hills home in response to noise complaints. Avery allegedly became irate at the sight of them, pushed an officer and slammed the door before they could enter. He quickly realized what he had done and became cooperative, according to reports, but it was too late. He faces a misdemeanor charge of battery on a police officer. Only a few more months till the return of professional hockey!
