Insanely Cute Video: Juno The Beluga Whale Serenaded By Mariachi Band

aug3beluga.jpg

Prepare for one minute and forty-five seconds of pure happiness:

The band—Mariachi Connecticut—was at the Mystic Aquarium to play a wedding that was officiated in front of Juno's tank. We got a hold of Eduardo Rocha, the bandleader, who said, "Juno paid attention the whole time we played. He was very attentive and an excellent audience. He was knocking his head against the glass, like he was tipping his hat. The song is 'Yellow Bird,' it's not really one of our standards, we were just improvising." [via Laughing Squid]

  • marco_esquandolas

God I love this country.  Where else in the world could something like this happen?

    ...

I mean, besides an aquarium in Mexico.

    so. much. happy!

  • I hate this. Caged animals are so depressing. I'd like a Mariachi band once in a while too - if I was in fucking jail.

  • FU Boy

Point of contention: That's not a cage. A cage won't hold 750,000 gallons of water very well.

And if you don't like caged animals, why do you support jails?

  • adeez

    Ha!

Your comment combined with my simultaneous hit went oh so well together!

Why you gotta bring us down Chuck?

  • Guest

Because he's an animal rights person.  They don't enjoy fun.

  • Why won't you let Juno and the mariachi band be great?

  • FU Boy

Damnit, wish I could watch video at work - this is my first web-stop when I get home.

  • el192

    I love this.  Love.

  • sluggita

Thank you so very much for this.

  • Professor Von Nostren

Thanks, that ended my day on a high note.
