Tim Gunn: Hillary Clinton Dresses Like A Man

Tim Gunn had some harsh words for Hillary Clinton today, asking the question that's been on every fashionista's mind: "Why must she dress that way?"

"I think she's confused about her gender [with] all these big, baggy, menswear tailored pantsuits," Gunn said in a recent interview on Lopez Tonight. Ever-classy Lopez then asked Gunn how Clinton might hide her cankles, to which he responded, "Well, if her pants didn't stop an inch above her ankle, she could hide the cankle!"

Perhaps in response to Gunn's criticisms (though we hope she's more concerned with, oh, you know, world politics), Clinton appeared in a very ladylike pink suit and pearls today at the Norweigan Embassy. But back when she was a Senator, Clinton did raise some eyebrows with a low cut shirt.

Gunn, who has commended President Obama's fashion choices in the past, did say, "I have a great respect for her intellect and her tenacity and for what she does for our country in her governmental role. I just wish she could send a stronger message about American fashion."

Tim Gunn, why are you berating Hillary Clinton about what she wears? She's the US Secretary of State. It's not enough that she has to supervise The US Dept of State and Foreign affairs, she's got to be a fashionista too? Henry Kissinger and Colin Powell weren't the most sharp dressed men but no one bothered them about it. Misogynist.Jerk.

Wow.. And I thought that he wasn't a bully...according to his tearful "it gets better" testimonial.  The fact that he throws gender confusion in on top of it makes him all the more hypocritical. Nice work. Why not just say how she can improve?

And Tim Gunn sounds like a woman.

Didn't she have a mullet when her husband first started running for President? I don't think we want to know what she would dress like without the pant suits.

Well, she's neither French or Italian, and American women have no clue.

Just another way for Gunn to get his name out there by stirring the pot.

It's really a politically brilliant move on the part of the U.S. Government to have a 'women' representing American foreign interests as our Secretary of State- because you know how much the Arab world LOVES dealing with a woman-
. . .and especially women like Ms. Black Condolezza Rice; Ms. Jewish Madeleine Albright and now- Ms. wonderfully even-tempered, fat-assed and dyke-y Hilary Clinton!  ( The Arabs can't even stand 'touching' her when forced to shake her hand! )

If she failed to disguise/balance out her wide hips, Gunn would castigate her for that, so she's screwed either way. Aside from the stupidity of commenting on women's clothing choices, why crucify her because she can't wear clothes designed for rail-thin models? Ugh.

  • discogarage

maybe it's because sexist stupid fashion pigs always have to comment on how women look and not what they do.

Maybe it is easier to put on a boring suit than to think of what outfit to wear to meetings with middle eastern leaders who don't really want to speak with a woman anyway.

Because what you really need in a secretary of state is a flare for fashion...

  • Roger_the_Shrubber

    Maybe because she's a dyke?
