What Muslim Radicalization Hearings? Peter King Says Another 9/11 Is "Almost Impossible"

Republican Rep. Peter King has been keeping busy with refusing "craven surrender to political correctness" by singling out Muslims as a group of people we really shouldn't be trusting. After his first Congressional hearing on "Muslim Radicalization" was mostly an offensive dud, his second one was barely noticed. And yes, there will be a third hearing to combat the scourge of Islam on Wednesday. But Peter King seems to have forgotten how real the danger is, because NY1 reports that he told a group of supporters this morning that "it would be almost impossible for a 9/11-type attack to happen again."

Especially galling is that King's third hearing is to focus on the "coordinated and ongoing recruitment and radicalization of young Muslim men in the US." What's good for Al Qaeda's recruiting numbers in the US? Peter King's hearings on "Muslim Radicalization." Besides, if we want to destroy Al Qaeda's book clubs in the US, we just need to unleash Peter King's novel, Vale of Tears, and sit back and watch Freedom do its thing.

So Peter King is either incredibly stupid and naive or a despicable liar with no conscience at all. Either way he is yet another waste of space in Washington DC.

He may not be far off. Why? Because our technology may or may not be able to detect "booby bombs" (that is, surgically-implanted bombs).

King, however, may want to consider drafting a Constitutional Amendment to update the Fourth Amendment. Also, a harder look needs to be done AGAIN at radicalization in the prisons, and it seriously needs to be considered whether or not freedom of religion should be suspended for prisoners.

Right? "This 9-11 thing could never happen, PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE TERRORIST ATTACK THIS WEEKEND, it will never happen again." I mean, I think he's right that we need to look at "home grown" terrorism, but those terrorists are going to be white right-wing Christians who've been told by people like Peter King that anybody who isn't like them isn't worth of being considered a person.
