Curtis Granderson and Boone Logan, whose mistakes contributed to the Yankees' Tuesday night loss to the Rays, redeemed themselves by helping the Bombers shut out Tampa Bay 4-0. Logan got a crucial out when he pitched in the seventh inning and Granderson managed a two-run homer off Rays pitcher David Price. Yankees pitcher Freddy Garcia got the win.

At Citfield, the Mets went into 10 innings to beat the Cardinals, 6-5. Coming back after falling behind by four runs, the Mets got a two run homer from Carlos Beltran, RBIs from Josh Thole and RA Dickey.

The Red Bulls lost to the Colorado Rapids, 4-1. The Rapids' Sanna Nyassi managed a hat trick; Thierry Henry scored New York's lone goal, his 10th of the season.
