Autopsy: Dismembered Brooklyn Boy Was Drugged Before He Was Killed

Autopsy reports reveal that accused killer Levi Aron drugged Leiby Kletzky before he smothered him to death

The autopsy report on Leiby Kletzky, the 8-year-old Hasidic boy who was killed and dismembered last week, has revealed that Leiby had been drugged before he was smothered to death by confessed killer Levi Aron. The medical examiner said Leiby had been given muscle relaxant, anti-psychotic drugs, painkillers and Tylenol before he was killed—the anti-psychotic drug, quetiapine, is used to treat symptoms of schizophrenia.

Aron, who confessed to killing Leiby after he "panicked" over the community's response to his disappearance, is expected to be indicted on charges of first-degree murder and kidnapping by a grand jury today. Aron, who has been described as "slow" by ex-wives and co-workers, told his lawyers he hears voices and sees hallucinations, and is currently undergoing a psychiatric evaluation at Bellevue Hospital—his lawyers seem prepared to go with an insanity plea , but Brooklyn DA Charles Hynes said yesterday he would use every resource he could to fight such a defense.

DA Hynes made a shiva call to Leiby's mourning family members yesterday and promised that justice would be served. He also gave an indirect swipe at Manhattan DA Cy Vance, who many have blamed for completely botching the DSK case in his pursuit of a headline: "We are gathering with the police every piece of forensic evidence necessary to support our case. This is a very, very careful process, you know. If you look at cases that have happened recently, if these kind of cases are rushed, mistakes are made."

Ben, as I pointed out to Chris the other day, DA Hynes did not sit shiva with the family. Only the family sits shiva. Hynes was a visitor and was there to comfort the mourners. I realize you got this from NY1, but just because they're wrong doesn't mean you have to be wrong too.

Totally true. Especially since in the photo of Levi Aron, he has no visible pupils - it's like he's always wearing the 'creepy devil eyes' contact lenses they use in cheap horror films.
