Jimmy Whittemore may be sorry for drunkenly trashing the Ed Sullivan Theater, where The Late Show With David Letterman tapes, but now he's started a trend: Earlier this morning, a man was arrested breaking into the Ed Sullivan Theater. However, he only made it as far as the vestibule.

According to police, the suspect, 42-year-old Alvin Moore used a metal newspaper dispenser to break through the front doors' windows a little before 1 a.m. The guard caught Moore and waited for the police, who took him to St. Luke's Hospital for minor lacerations. One witness claimed that Moore headbutted the door, too.

WCBS 2 reports, "Moore, originally from Sebring, Fla., faces burglary and criminal mischief charges. Police say he told them he was upset because Letterman hadn’t responded to a number of demo tapes he sent him."

    Crime
catapults some to fame—there’s Casey Anthony, OJ, Jeffrey Dahmer, etc.—but
who in their right minds wants to join that pantheon?  Maybe it will
work out for both these crooks, though.  Maybe at my next job
interview, I’ll just break a few windows on my way in, really give ‘em
    something to talk about.

If this becomes a trend, it's still MUCH better than 'icing'.
