Yeah, they (barely) made the playoffs. But the New York Knicks still have a long way to go before their "multidisciplinary approach" of "part strategy, part storytelling, part technology, part design" gets us jonesin' to shell out precious chunks of our discretionary income so we can maybe see Spike Lee through binoculars. Recently hired Knicks play-by-play announcer, Spero Dedes, is perhaps using the time-honored "bad boy" tactic (or maybe the "stars, they're just like us" maneuver?) after being busted for DWI in Southampton at 4:35 a.m on July 4th.
32-year-old Dedeswho attended Fordham, used to work for the YES Network, and currently lives in Queenshad his 2006 BMW pulled over for speeding and was found to be intoxicated. Southampton Patch reports that his attorney assured "a complete dismissal of the charges due to problems surrounding Mr. Dedes' traffic stop and ultimate arrest."
Dedes had previously worked for the Los Angeles Lakers before his hiring was announced two weeks ago—before the NBA lockout— and was one of many people in the Southampton area who received a DWI over the holiday weekend.
