DSK Accuser Sues The New York Post For Hooker Libel

070411HOOKER.jpg It appears that Dominique Strauss-Kahn's accuser is calling the New York Post on their claims that she is a "hooker": the 32-year-old Guinean immigrant is suing the paper and five of its journalists for libel. The Post reported that the woman was having sex for money at taxpayers' expense, by having "multiple 'dates' and encounters" in her hotel room "on the DA's dime."

According to Reuters, the woman's lawsuit asserts, "All these statements are false, have subjected the plaintiff to humiliation, scorn and ridicule throughout the world by falsely portraying her as a prostitute or as a woman who trades her body for money." Strauss-Kahn's accuser reportedly had money deposited into bank account from locations across the United States, and supposedly told a jailed boyfriend in a telephone call a day after the incident, "Don't worry, this guy has a lot of money. I know what I'm doing."

Kenneth Thompson, one of the woman's attorneys in the Strauss-Kahn case filed the libel complaint, and the Post has so far declined comment. Libel is difficult to prosecute in the United States, as the libelous statements must be proven to be a factually false and harmful to a person's reputation, not merely insulting. Recently, a transsexual lost a libel suit against the Post for implying that she was a "promiscuous slut" for her Page 6 encounters with billionaire Jeffery Epstein.

"Strauss-Kahn's accuser reportedly had money deposited into bank account from locations across the United State..." Which states united to form one state within the United States of America? #typos

  • felixthecat

yes, sue the New York post frenchie. Al Sharption was paid to walk away. that goon is a sell out

  • TimeDown

I think you are confused about who is suing who.

  • The maid will be walking the perp walk after the feds look into her large bank accounts, and the reason for five cell phones. Convictions for laundering drug money can get her more than ten years in the federal slammer.

  • I can actually see the DSK accuser winning this one, because despite all the things she has done, she hasn't turned any tricks to my knowledge. Good for her.

Had they said liar, the NY Post would have been on safer ground, because she has lied in the past.

  • ronshapley

    "to my knowledge"....hahahhahahahahahaha

  • lovelette

Great! This is exactly what I hoped she would do. The NY Post was way out of line on this one. Pay up bitches!

  • dogbertt

Has she filed her suit anonymously?  Why is no one reporting her name?

  • Amber

You don't print an alleged rape victim's name.

Reports of the maid doing sex work during her stay under police protection does not surprise me. Men everywhere are dreaming of making love to the woman that ruined the reputation of DSK. Her price will be beyond the means of the working man unless it is disclosed that she has AIDS.

so, if the charges get dropped, can he sue her for subjecting him to "humiliation, scorn and ridicule throughout the world by falsely portraying (him) as a (rapist)"?

  • boomshanka

    "hell yeah!" says kenneth moreno

  • TimeDown

Yes, he can sue her but I'm going to guess as a maid for a hotel she's basically judgment proof.

  • Spirit of 76

He can at least go after the thousands of dollars the authorities say she has stashed in out-of-state accounts.

  • TimeDown

That's really unlikely since they appear to be illicit funds gained from criminal activity. Law enforcement will seize that money way before any lawsuit can get to it.

Go after the lawyers for frivolous lawsuits and you see an end to this bullshit very quickly.

  • TimeDown

Which lawyers? A criminal charge is not the same as a civil lawsuit even when it's frivolous. Prosecutors have full immunity so the case would be thrown out immediately.

Honestly, I hate most prosecutors but so far they have not done anything really wrong. They had an alleged victim and evidence and they pursued the case. It is hard to say they knew it was frivolous at that point. They found out a lot of bad information but turned it over to the defense in a timely manner. It remains to be seen if they do something wrong but even if they do they still have immunity from lawsuits.

Good points.  I'm not really sure where libel falls
     - I'm guessing under civil law in NYS because it looks like the criminal case against this dude is being dropped.

Outside of this case, it still pisses me off that guys like Roy Pearson and Jon Lee Riches exist wasting everyone's time and money.  Yeah, I think Pearson had to pay like $10K in fines, but that's nothing compared to the State's money that he wasted.
