Sun, Sun, And More Sun On The Way

A cold front passed through the city very early this morning, sweeping away most of the humidity. The dew point temperature has been steadily dropping from its disgusting peak of 73 degrees at 3 a.m. and will continue to do so for the rest of the day. The lack of humidity and clear skies except for a few fair weather cumulus, means we should warm up nicely to the mid 80s this afternoon.

This is a big high pressure system that's moving over us so don't expect many weather surprises for the next few days. If possible tomorrow and Friday will be sunnier than today with nary a cloud in the sky. The axis of high pressure should pass by late Friday or early Saturday morning, bringing heat and humidity for the start of the Fourth of July weekend.

Saturday's high will again be in the mid 80s, while Sunday is likely to approach 90. The forecast is tricky though, as it looks like a weak cold front will be hanging out in our neighborhood after Saturday. A stalled-out front means showers or thunderstorms are not out of the question for Sunday and Monday.

2009 was pretty nice.  I went to a Yankee game that day and watched the fireworks.  Turned out to be a beautiful day.
