Law & Order: SVU has cast two new detectives for its upcoming season, to fill the gaping void left by Christopher Meloni's departure and Mariska Hargitay's reduced screen time. And the winners are...
Kelli Giddish and Danny Pino! Wait, who? Giddish starred on the short-lived NBC series Chase (playing a U.S. Marshal), and Pino starred as a detective on seven seasons of CBS's Cold Case. Both will play detectives in the Special Victims Unit. "Kelli and Danny are two great actors who will join a proven cast headed by Mariska Hargitay as this exceptional series heads into a very promising 13th season," NBC Entertainment chief Bob Greenblatt said in a statement.
While no one will ever be able to replace Benson and Stabler (no one!), this is still better than casting Jennifer Love Hewitt, a move that some initially feared. Let's take a look at some of Benson and Stabler's most, ahem, tense moments, below:

I hope that Meloni doesn't end up like Shelley Long of Cheers; forever being asked, "What where you thinking?". It's not like he has a great acting range; more like half smirk and full smirk.

Aside from Mariska Hargitay, who really shows that much range in SVU's current cast? Its not a lack of talent, maybe, but just the way the show is structured.
