In not-exactly-shocking news, Edward Meehan, the MTA bus driver who lied about using his sexy express bus to woo the ladies on the company clock, has been officially fired.

An MTA arbiter called Meehan out for his "outrageous behavior" and concluded that "discharge is the only appropriate penalty." Meehan parked his bus in Staten Island for extended visits with an unidentified female (he claims the two are "just friends") then told MTA dispatchers that he was stuck in traffic and collected overtime for his supposed extra work. Meehan had racked up dozens of violations prior to his firing, including charges of drunk driving and "gross misconduct."

Yup, and the MTA doesn't care about the more than half a BILLION they spend on overtime each year - including bus drivers and train conductors making up to $239,148/year.
