Queens DA: Man Stabbed, Paralyzed Teen He's Accused Of Raping

A Queens man accused of raping his teenage girlfriend and the mother of his child allegedly stabbed her in a supermarket on Monday after being released on bond. 20-year-old Daniel Paguay reportedly dragged his ex-girlfriend into a Corona supermarket and "plunged a 10-inch blade into her back three times," the Daily News reports. Paguay, who also stabbed his 20-year-old cousin—who is now dating the 17-year-old victim—is being held without bond on charges of attempted murder and assault. The teenage victim is currently paralyzed from the waist down, and her mother Evelia Leon tells the paper that "She cannot speak or move. She can only sense you if you touch her hands."

In April, Paguay's bail for the rape charge was set at $25,000 by Justice Stephanie Zaro, considerably lower than the $250,000 requested by prosecutors. Paguay raised bail a few weeks later, and allegedly violated a protection order by breaking into the teenager's apartment at 2 a.m. on June 11. Paguay wasn't arrested after the break-in, and Zaro defended her earlier decision, calling it "serious bail." Leon railed against the judge for showing Paguay leniency, saying, "The judge should not have lowered his bail. How could he be out? Who would stab someone like that, especially the mother of his son?"

Now now, there will be no shooting him in the head (we can't salvage the eyes). His organs should harvested while he's alive and unsedated to preserve their vitality. Overall, the organs should bring in $100,000 to $250,000 to help defray the costs of treatment for the victim.
